Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

Leave Kampala after a hefty breakfast and briefing from your Uganda tour leader about 10 days Uganda Rwanda gorilla trekking tour. Start driving from Kampala via Gulu highway about 5 or 6 hours’ drive. En-route stop visit will be made at Ziwa rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola for rhino tracking.

After viewing rhinos and diversity of other mammals, drive to a hotel in Masindi for lunch. You will then access Murchison Falls National Park through Kichumbanyobo gate in the south. Upon early arrival, your first day in the park will involve visiting Murchison Falls, witness it as it squeezes itself in 7 meters narrow gorge. Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

Get the best of your breakfast and after, start your morning game drive via northern section of Murchison Falls National Park about 2-3 hours wildlife adventure. Day 3: Drive from Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest National Park

Have your heavy breakfast and after, leave Murchison Falls National Park for Kibale Forest National Park in western Uganda about 6-7 hours’ drive. Enjoy the amazing view of the Albertine escarpment and traditional homesteads. Lunch stop will be made at Fort Portal city then proceed to your lodge in Kibale Forest National Park. If time allows, visit Bigodi wetland for nature walk expecting to sight lots of primates, birds and other mammals. Dinner and overnight stay at chimpanzee safari lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and drive to Queen Elizabeth national Park

After breakfast, proceed to Kanyanchu visitor centre at the heart of Kibale Forest National Park to be briefed on rules for chimpanzee trekking. At 8:00am after briefing and assigning you a park guide at 7:30am, start your trek to view chimpanzees. It takes you 2-4 hours tracking chimpanzees and you will have 1 hour of magical encounter and photography. Day 5: Game drive and launch trip in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have a cup of tea or coffee and after, start your game drive through Kasenyi track which lets you sight Uganda Kobs, cape buffaloes, elephants, birds, lions, leopards, water bucks, warthogs and others. Return for lunch and relax a little. At 2:00pm, go for an afternoon launch trip via Kazinga channel with expectation to spot hippos, crocodiles and water birds like pink backed pelicans, flamingos, shoebill stork, kingfishers and others. This is the only spot to see the tree climbing lions although it also lets you sight other wildlife and birds. Lunch stop will be made at Savanna resort hotel. At 7:00am, you will be briefed on gorilla trekking rules and regulation before embarking on actual trek at 8:00am. Only 1 hour will be allowed for you to spend with a group of mountain gorillas after 2-6 hours of navigating through the forest. Later, you will walk back to relax at the lodge then in the afternoon, you pay a visit to Batwa community. Dinner and overnight will be at your gorilla safari lodge in Bwindi.

The park official will also allocate for you a gorilla family to track as a group of 8 visitors. At 8:00am, the park guide takes you through 2-4 hours’ gorilla trek and on spotting mountain gorillas, only one hour will be allowed for you to have face to face with these apes. Return thereafter to relax at the lodge then in the afternoon, you will visit Iby’Iwacu cultural village for the best cultural experience. Day 10: Drive to Kigali; Kigali city expedition
