Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is positioned in Kanungu, Kabale and Kisoro district; southwestern Uganda. Gorilla trekking safari tours in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park start from anyone of its 4 major regions (Ruhija, Nkuringo, Rushaga or Buhoma). It is comprised of 20 habituated families which are distributed in the four main gorilla trekking areas and they include Kutu, Bweza, Nshongi, Rwigi, Mucunguzi, Kahungye, Busingye, Bikingi and Mishaya in Rushaga region; Bitukura group, Kyaguriro, Mukiza, and Oruzogo family in Ruhija area; Nkuringo, Christmas and Bushaho in Nkuringo region whereas Buhoma region is comprised of Katwe, Habinyanja, Rushegura, and Mubare group. However, you will be allocated to one habituated gorilla group to trek in a group of 8 trekkers.
This 3 Days Uganda gorilla trekking safari commences and ends in Kampala/Entebbe, about 8-10 hours’ drive. You can do the same tour starting from Kigali about 3-4 hours’ drive in a good 4×4 drive safari vehicle and this involves border crossing from Katuna or Chanika border area.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Meet our company representative for a warm welcome and briefing after breakfast at your hotel or place of residence in Kampala or Entebbe. Your journey will begin around 6:30 am and you drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park along the Masaka-Mbarara-Busenyi route and at the Equator crossing, you will have a brief stopover for photography and relaxation. Later, get to Igongo Cultural Center to have lunch then proceed via the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you have the opportunity to strike your imaginations with the tree climbing lions. After, connect to Bwindi Forest National Park while enjoying the breathtaking views of countryside sceneries and arrive early enough to check-in at your lodge of choice.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural experience
Rise up early in the morning to enjoy breakfast and after, gather at the gorilla trekking region as per your gorilla permit where you will have a briefing on the dos and don’ts for you to follow while trekking mountain gorillas. At 8:00 am after briefing and assigning you a gorilla group to trek, you will begin your search for these dramatic creatures and you will be accompanied by a trained park ranger guide. The length of gorilla trek varies depending on the location of mountain gorillas, your speed of hiking and the nature of the habitat.
A complete trek to see these large apes takes about 2-6 hours which also covers an hour of magical encounter, photography and exploring about their behaviors. Since it is an unpredictable primate experience, you need some bottled water, energy-giving snacks, and walking stick. After thriller primate adventure, return to the lodge to have some rest and later, spend your evening in the Batwa Community for cultural experience. You will enjoy the best music, dances and learn about their lifestyles, traditions among others.
